We upgrade under-vented roofs across the Puget Sound region with balanced systems that eliminate the attic dampness older homes were never built to handle.
Many homes here were framed with a couple of box vents and no real intake, which leaves the attic holding moist air all winter long. Upgrading means auditing what you actually have, then bringing the intake and exhaust into balance so airflow moves continuously from eave to ridge. We frequently find powered fans fighting against sealed soffits or gable vents short-circuiting ridge exhaust, both of which we correct as part of the redesign. When we reroof or work on an existing deck, we can convert scattered static vents to a clean continuous ridge vent for far better performance. The upgrade pays off as drier sheathing, fewer mold complaints, and a noticeably cooler upstairs during our increasingly warm summers.
