What This Service Involves

Every vent that pokes through your roof, from exhaust fans to attic vents, needs a flashing collar that integrates with the roofing to keep water out. Over time the metal collars corrode, the sealant cracks, and the fasteners back out, giving Puget Sound rain an easy path into the attic. We remove the failed vent flashing, inspect the deck around the opening for moisture damage, and install a new collar lapped correctly under the upslope roofing and over the downslope courses. Getting the lap direction right is what separates a lasting seal from a repeat leak. We also confirm the vent itself is intact and properly seated before finishing.
