What This Service Involves

The roof edge is where water concentrates before dropping into the gutter, making it a prime spot for rot, lifted shingles, and failed drip edge in our rain-heavy region. We rebuild compromised edge decking, install or correct drip edge metal, and reset the starter course so water sheds cleanly into the gutter. On many Puget Sound homes we find the original edge lacked drip edge entirely, letting runoff wick back onto the fascia. A properly detailed edge protects both the deck and the fascia below from chronic saturation.

1) Lift the edge courses and evaluate decking and drip edge; 2) Replace any rotted sheathing at the eave; 3) Install properly lapped drip edge metal; 4) Reset starter shingles and seal the edge against wind uplift
