We install gable vents in end walls to add cross-attic airflow and exhaust capacity for homes where roof-plane venting is limited.
Set high in the triangular gable ends, these vents let air move across the attic and provide exhaust where a home's roof geometry or short ridge limits other options. They also add architectural detail, and we can match louver style and finish to the home's exterior. We're careful to design them so they complement rather than short-circuit any ridge or roof vents, since mixing exhaust types incorrectly can actually stall airflow. Each vent is flashed and sealed into the siding to keep our wind-driven rain out of the wall assembly. Sized and placed correctly, gable vents contribute real cross-ventilation to keep the attic dry.
