We favor heavier-gauge, corrosion-resistant metals here because our salt-influenced marine air and near-constant damp are hard on thin, builder-grade material. Every run is lapped in the direction of flow and tied into the drainage plane, which matters enormously on the low-slope roofs common around Seattle and Tacoma.
