What This Service Involves

Drip edge is the metal flashing installed along the roof's edges that guides runoff away from the fascia and into the gutter rather than letting it wick back under the roofing. In a climate as wet as Western Washington, missing or improper drip edge leads to rotted fascia boards, saturated sheathing, and premature roof-edge failure. We install drip edge under the underlayment at the eaves and over it at the rakes, following best practice so water is always directed outward. This detail also stiffens the roof edge and helps keep wind-driven rain from getting underneath the first course. It is a modest addition that pays off across every rainy month of the year.
