What This Service Involves

When existing drip edge has corroded, pulled loose, or was never installed to begin with, replacing it restores the clean water path that protects your fascia and sheathing. On many older Northwest homes we find drip edge that has rusted through after years of moisture or was omitted entirely, leaving the eaves to soak up runoff. We remove the compromised metal, inspect the roof edge and fascia for hidden rot, and install fresh drip edge lapped correctly at eaves and rakes. Doing this during a reroof or gutter project is efficient, since the edge is already accessible. The result is a crisp, watertight roof perimeter that stops feeding moisture into the structure.

1) Remove the corroded, bent, or loose existing drip edge; 2) Inspect the roof edge and fascia for concealed rot and repair as needed; 3) Install new drip edge lapped under eaves underlayment and over rake underlayment; 4) Fasten, lap the joints, and confirm coordination with the gutters
